Hi,

I have just gotten my spark revived and currently flew using the phone as controller. I am only flying around the apartment that I am staying(around pool area), however, I noticed that the wifi 5G signal is very weak, most of the time, it's either 1 bar or no bar at all but spark still responds to my input. I have also tried 2.4G but there is too much interference as I am near apartment(many routers using 2.4G).

I have already purchased a used dedicated RC for my spark and hopefully the signal will be stronger with this dedicated unit with external antennas. Any thoughts? Thanks!

That's correct. With the phone Wi-Fi your range is limited to approx 20 meters. With a controller your range is a couple hundred meters.

1. Do the FCC hack
2. Connect your spark with the controller using an OTG cable.
3. On your phone, put off wifi and bluetooth.
That will make your signal strength and your range 3 times more powerful.
All this info is available on youtube.

Thanks for the info. My search on youtube was mostly focused on CP2112 board to revive my spark.

I have found the below link for FCC hack on spark but it seems to work on .900 firmware only?

Thats another method. I used fake location.
Do a search on this form “ fake location”

No. It does not interfere with flight logs. Opening dji go4 or litchi will allways ask when opening it: you’re in a different country , shall we change location? The only thing you have to do is click ignore et voila.
