I just took my Spark to a local sports field to fly. First real flights except for initial testing at home. I sold my Phantom 3 std to get this Spark. I am definitely going to need more battery's!

Most fun 25 minutes (2 batteries ) I've had flying drones. Tried out everything except hand gestures. Sports mode is a blast. I can't imagine how fast an actual racing drone would be!

I wish there was a setting to automatically start recording as I always forget!

The Spark is quite slow when not flying in Sport mode, so that's the way I usually fly mine. The slower speed is perfect for what DJI advertises it as though -- a selfie drone.

FYI, here's how the Spark's top speed stacks up against other DJI drones when flying in Sport mode:

Spark: 31 MPH
Mavic: 40 MPH
P4: 44 MPH
P4P: 45 MPH

While it's still not a racing drone, flying a P4 in Sport mode is truly a blast and a half.

Also if you disable obstacle avoidance you get a little more speed, but not the speed of sport mode.

I *LOVE* my P4P in sport mode. Even just the slightest tailwind bumps the top speed up to 55mph. It's sounds AMAZING screaming overhead at full speed.

the spark is of course much slower but the fun-factor is way higher.

Robert I forget to record too, so I make it a point to start immediately before or after takeoff prior to going up off the deck. If you do things the same way every time, it makes it easier to remember.

I agree. As a small drone, the sport mode feels even more impressive. I'm hooked!

You flew at the Forks? I'm a little unsure where to fly. I go to Vince Lee sports field early in the morning. No one bugged you at the Forks?
