My Spark camera points to the left, not straight ahead [SOLVED]

I finally took my Spark to pieces and found the problem. Unbelievably, although it was brand new when I bought it, and the cover screws had a seal on two of them, the problem was that the two screws that hold the camera assembly to its carrier had been tightened so that the slack in the camera...

Correct me if I am wrong

There may be circumstances where OTG may improve the range, (as well as improving the video signal). In the UK, for example, European Android phones don't have the 5GHz channels that the Spark tries to use for the link to the phone. This means that the link then defaults to the 2.4GHz channels...

My Spark camera points to the left, not straight ahead [SOLVED]

Thanks, but isn't that just roll and pitch? Mine is Yaw.

My Spark camera points to the left, not straight ahead [SOLVED]

I don't use Windows or Mac, and I see that the later version(s) of DJI Assistant have disabled the debug console. Combined with the uncertainty whether Assistant 2 allows camera yaw calibration I'm not sure that that avenue is worth the effort in pursuing. Does anyone else have a camera that...

My Spark camera points to the left, not straight ahead [SOLVED]

I've always wondered, when flying the Spark towards a distant object, why it always needs to be turned left as it gets closer, as if it's crabbing sideways. Today I noticed that, with the Spark on the ground and pointed towards an object, the camera view is centred slightly to the left of the...

You want it? You got it! YAW and ATTI mode!!!

Yes, I noticed that too, and presumed that it was either a YT or video editor problem. The initial yaw certainly seemed to be smoother than I'm used to though. We had great weather for flying here today, but I was too busy to try the mod. I also have to fire up the dreaded Win7 (Linux user)...

You want it? You got it! YAW and ATTI mode!!!

I still have a couple of very small helis, including a gyro stabilised flybarless Nine Eagles SoloPro 125. I gave away the Esky CP2 with brushless and heavily modded flight controller that I still struggled with and crashed over about 4 years, it was just too depressing. :D

You want it? You got it! YAW and ATTI mode!!!

Two very good videos that everyone should watch, thanks for the heads up. The yaw expo change is especially useful, I'll be trying it ASAP.

    Holiday

If the country you visit has FCC rules then it should offer to change the wireless settings when you start it up in the new location. You can 'Accept' or 'Cancel'. If you hit 'Accept' it will change to FCC, hit 'Cancel' and it will stay in EC mode until the next time you start up.

    Spark - Exponential Component

Good question, the rudder stick has the same sensitivity as the other sticks when it should really be less sensitive.

    Tablet question

I use a 2nd gen 4G Nexus 7, as it has the brightest display for a cheap Android tablet. Haven't had any problems with it, fly using OTG and it fits in the controller arms with a tiny tweak.

    Stopping the props mid-flight

Nothing will save it unless the rotor airfoil is able to generate lift, and that can't happen with the Spark because the pitch is fixed.

    Stopping the props mid-flight

There's also a misconception that the unpowered props will 'autorotate' on the way down and help with some lift, but they won't. As any RC or full size heli pilot knows, to autorotate you have to be able to change the collective pitch so that the leading edge of the blades have the correct angle...

    Spark + Tablet?

I use a 4G Nexus 7, bought because it was cheap and has a bright screen. Haven't had any problems with it so far and use it with OTG all the time.
