Both.

That's why it's wise to fly with a spotter so you can pay attention to the on screen telemetry AND the spark.

I had a minor incident when I was keeping an eye on the Spark and then distracted by the beebs / messages that pop up then disappear, averting my gaze momentarily...Uh-oh.
