Is gimbal not protected enough in the original case?

It sure is adequate enough, the Spark got shipped all around the world in the case.

I still use mine when cruising on my watercraft.
It fits nice and tight in the cargo area for maximum protection. The Fly More bag more fits as well holding the extra batteries, remote, and accessories like the lens filters and mini4.
