Camera Senor Error Yesterday

Hey All,

went out to do a quick flight yesterday after work and a few seconds in i get an error "Warings:Camera Sensor Error" . I brought it back (only 30ft away) and landed. Then i restarted the drone and no more issues while finishing off that battery.
I wanted to try again so i went out two more times and no issues. I seems like the restart did it. I am now just worried and not sure if I trust it 100%. No crashes in a total of 42 flights.
-Should I keep flying and testing to see if it happens again?
-Should I refresh the firmware or downgrade and test (currently running .1000)
-any ideas or if any of you have run into this in the past and it just went away?

Attached is a screen shot of the air data with the warning. I did some research and most who have this error for them it happens every time they start up and a simple power on and off did not fix it for them. So this could be a one off.
Let me know your thoughts.

Sometimes the error message was the error. A camera sensor that is truly faulty isn’t going to be fixed with a simple restart.

A true “Camera Sensor Error” is a very uncommon occurrence. If it never happened before and never happens again I would not forget about it. It’s not gonna cause a crash but you were wise to cut the flight short.

This even used to happen on commercial jumbo jets - the cockpit warning light could falsely light when there was no real equipment issue (other than the warning light itself). Caused many many flight delays.

Thank you for the response. Even if the screen went blank at the time? I also flew twice yesterday and no issues and yesterday over here was 93 degrees so it was hot and humid. I figured if anything would happen heat and humidity would bring it back on but it did not.

That’s a little different. If screen went dark there probably really was an error.

But I still think it was a software crash and not a true Camera Sensor Error. A hardware error wouldn’t be fixed by a restart and be likely to occur repeatedly with continued use. I think you were wise to bring down the Spark — not because you lost picture view but because one software crash can lead to another and then power off other disastrous behavior.

If it’s just been a one time thing I’d file it into memory but not worry unless other bad actions

Cellphones have many of the same components and this happens all the time — the phone initiates a command and then promptly crashes. But difference because Spark could be 300 feet AGL.

Thank you Andre! I will keep an eye on it and see (hopefully not) if it happens again. I agree if it was really a hardware issue it would be consistent and a restart would not correct it. I will report back if I run into the issue again.

Thank you

Hi Northwood
I got the error again today flew 2 times this morning no issues. Then this evening first flight 30ft up got the error again. Landed restarted then it was perfect the next 2 flights. If it was hardware it think it would be consistent and not cured with a restart. I am wondering if If i should re-flash it with the .1000 or downgrade to.900 . to see if it goes away for good.
Is it clean? I mean if you look at it its clean. I did blow in it a few times to make sure .I just dont want to have to send it in and it nothing and they touch it and something else goes wrong. (heard a lot of stories)

Let me know if you think I should reflash it and see if that helps? Or reset it back to default.

Thank you
