Can't Fly Higher

I can't seem to fly higher than 4-5 metres. It will say: "Maximum Flight Altitude reached" Why is this happening?

If not, there are settings in the Go4 app to set your maximum altitude.

I'm not in beginner mode and the max altitude is set to 120 metres

Come to think of it, that happened to me once and all of my settings were correct.

I started the app over and it was okay after that.

I'm sure you've done that already?

I think I've figured it out: tried it in another location and as soon as it says "The homepoint has been updated" it starts to ascend higher than the 5 metres limit.

When flying via mobile, I can only go 162 feet. Is that normal?

Yes, there is a cutoff based on the wifi strength of the mobil device. If you go into your settings it should be locked both ways distance and altitude. Don’t remember exactly, since I use an RC. But DJI states the max altitude around that high.
