Can't make OTG connection.

Put phone in airplane mode and still the phone won't see the wired connection. The phone is an Alcatel U50 running Android 7. Any insights?

U50 seems to support OTG connection. perhaps try to connect the cable conversely..worked for some people (in wrong direction the phone was charging only but didn't connect to RC).

if no luck, try different OTG cable.

You also can try to set USB-mode in debugging mode. You will find that option in "Developer Options".

Not all cables are created equally. You may have to try several before you find one that works. I've had best luck with thickest, shortest, newest ones. Especially good are cables originally packaged with a name brand accessory.

The order in which you connect the terminals (phone vs. RC first) can also be the difference between success and failure.
