Charging Android phone from RC without OTG telemetry loss?

Boy, does my dedicated Android Nexus 5 battery go flat quickly when it's connected to the RC WiFi.
As I said, dedicated, there's no SIM, it's always on Airplane mode with only WiFi activated.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a cable that's charging only, no data, so that I can charge the phone from the controller without losing telemetry?

I could be wrong but I don't think the controller charges the phone. Get a portable charger and plug it in.

I already have a RavPower 26800mAh power pack.

It's just a bit cumbersome to attach to the RC/Phone, and it's annoying to have to dismount the phone from the RC halfway through a flight battery to charge it.
I've used it before by putting it in a pocket and running a USB cable from it to the phone. Bit of a PITA if you want to put the RC down for any reason.
