Crash: missing front 3d sensor cover

Hello all. I'm hoping someone can help me. I crashed my spark the other day, and besides a couple of other things which were easy to fix, the front 3D sensor cover came off and I haven't been able to find it.

Does anyone know where i can get a new cover? I can't seem to find such a part anywhere. Does it matter? It seems to work fine, just looks a little naked and I'm worried about dirt and dust getting in.

I remember this has came up before concerning that piece and found that it wasn't sold by itself, but is part of the Spark mid frame for about twenty bucks.

Yes!!! Thank you! It had occurred to me that it might be part of another piece but hadn't searched yet.

Now the follow up question... OEM, or knockoff? It occurs to me that a knockoff may even be better quality or lighter. But OEM is almost always safer.

you can insert a red piece of thin Plexiglas or other foil like that used in infrared devices

I was thinking along the same lines.

Pop the lens off of an old remote control and use an emery board to shape it to fit the Spark.
