I'm a newbie here I don't even know if I'm at the right place to ask this question, but I would very much appreciate anyone's and everyone's help I've got a dji spark and I can't fly it because I live in a yellow zone in the uk. I've been given the all clear from dji geo zone I'm still unable to take off whatsoever even though it's unlocked on the app, what am I doing wrong or have I missed something out please please help me x

Did you perform a compass calibration? Try resetting the drone as well. What do you have the altitude limit set to? Try lowering it if it's set high. Sometimes the battery will need an update if it's new.

Is the GEO authority recognized in the app? You will need to do that while connected to internet (cell, wifi).

Also, are you near the edge of it, near a red zone? I find that the app is quite cautious when near edges.

Hiya my lovely Brianuc4 thanks for your helping hand, I've done a compass calibration, reset the drone my altitude limit is 30 meters only problem I have is how do I go about updating the battery x

Hiya guy's I just want to thank all of you who have helped me out, I have taken the spark to a green flying zone and the only difference is that the motor's start up but that's about it. I now have a few hundred pound brick, is it worth buying the litchi app because the DJI app just shows an advert when I'm out in the field.

Yes, it really sounded like it had nothing to do with the location.Typically, unless it's a definite no flyzone You should be able to take off. But you will have an annoying warning in the middle of your screen.:) But you will still be able to take off.
Sorry, about it being your Spark. I would think it would be covered under warranty.

I know that this may sound silly but would my phone make a difference to the spark's flight, I've got a samsung galaxy j3 ( 2016) would I be better off with a iphone? Sorry I forgot to say that the spark isn't in Sport-mode, and I don't have trouble with either of my other drones

No, absolutely not. Granted I use an ipad and sometimes an ipod 6. Have you tried launching in Gesture mode?....

It would answer a bunch of questions..but for the heck of it, try Gesture mode.. at least you will know if it can indeed lift off.

The latest update on what's happening with my spark, I've finally managed to get it off the ground yesterday only by a couple of feet. I didn't use the app or phone just the controller it's self but it only worked the once, I couldn't get it to go any higher as it beeped twice then made a landing. I havent had any joy since that first take off, all I'm getting now is a light flashing house brick. Any ideas on what to do now? Cheers guy's in advance

Making a little progress. I would try gesture mode. Power it on, hold it directly in front of you, tap the power twice for face recognition, wait til she sees your face, and see if she lifts off. This will tell us, while using only the Spark , no remote, whether it’s truly the Spark and a hardware problem or the remote/ mobile device causing the problem.
After that, if there is still no joy, it’s off to DJI support for a warranty exchange.
That would be my next step, “fair damsel”
