No if you use the RC.
Without you do the press long for 9 seconds till 3 beeps and it is 2.4G but only 100m range.
To get it to 2.4G there is need for no wifi / bluetooth activities at 2.4G around you, otherwise it select 5.8G.

Its justs get annoying each time with the RC, boot system up connect, switch to 2.4 reboot then insert otg cable lol
