Disable gimbal

Hey guys,

Is there a way to disable the gimbal on the Spark without permant damage?

I’m keen to mount the camera to the boresight of the drone to fly it like a racer (with HD FPV). with no gimbal stabilisation.

Anyone know if this is possible?

No, IMO it is impossible to turn a DJI spark into anything even remotely resembling a race drone, and you are only wasting money to try and turn a precise digital camera drone into a rough and tumble fpv racer. All you will do is lose races, and that's assuming you don't completely destroy your spark just practicing around. Oh and every time you crash (because thats what happens to fpv racers, they crash, ALL THE TIME) Just know that gimbal damage on the front of the spark will cost more than a whole fpv race frame, motors. esc all of it. Because they are designed to be flown without worries, crashed, repaired for $20-30 and right back at it. Not so with the spark, 1 decent hit and it's gone for a few weeks at least, with at least a $100 repair bill courtesy of DJI.

Just buy yourself some parts and DIY a race drone, I think you would be much happier.

Expand your experience and buy a micro quad. A 130 quad with a Runcam split will give you aĺl the excitement and crashes you ever want, all on video.

Akuen you are totally correct, the cinewhoop is exactly what Jason is after.
