Dji spark remote?

I've got a remote when it's on and using phone the wifi signal is coming from remote correct or do i need to connect using the cable from remote to phone sorry I'm new to this learning?

But as long as controller is connected it uses it wifi which is stronger not phone correct

I just wont to make sure I get the range I should having a controller I know it's the order you connect what I seen on youtube spark then rc then mobile correct

It doesnt matter if wifi or cable from rc to phone, the signal is from the rc to the spark and the phone hookup has nothing to do with the distance.
