Maybe I'm being a bit thick here but the gimble alignment is off by about 5 degrees on the horizon and I can't seem to correct it. What am I missing? Thanks in advance for your help.

Have you checked the gimbal settings within GO 4. Maybe it's off a few degrees in there or if not maybe you can add correction if nothing else works.
Provided it's not a hardware issue you could also try refreshing the Spark's firmware with Assistant 2.
