I am new to the Spark, I have had mine a little over a month. I have a ways to go, but the forums here help me to learn. I find at times, that when filming, I think the video will be great. In reality it can be choppy, and unclear. This video was shot in Ontario, NY.

Hello from the Hoosier Heartland, jsmigle.

Although you found something worth sharing, it's best not to film wildlife so close as it may put a lot of stress on them while "harassing" them. This is where the Mavic 2 zoom would be nice to have.

According to this Osprey Fact Sheet, they were listed as Endangered from 1976-1982, downgraded to Threatened from 1983-1998, and now have the status of Special Concern since 1999 in New York State.

Welcome to the Forum. ?

Thank you for the advice. I usually will not interfere with wildlife. I am going to upgrade drones sometime in the future. I reposted a different view.

IMHO, the birds displayed no visible signs of stress and didn't even leave the nest. You appear to be an adequate distance from them. Very cool shot.
If I were you, I'd share their location the fish and wildlife department in your community. Since they are endangered, they may find that information useful.

with a bird that big, the drone's probably in more danger than the bird ;)

(look around on youtube for bird attacks)

The one lower in frame was "whooping" when you were above it, they saw you and weren't happy about it, glad to see you left the area after spotting them.

Cell providers don't like them on their tower, can cause problems, but they can't touch them. Have to wait until the chicks fledge then they send a worker up there to remove the abandoned nest. Big birds like that would LIKE to use the same nest for several years, so it makes more work for the birds next year as they can't just tidy up and add onto an existing nest and have to start over, and are likely to just rebuild in the same place again.

jsmingle,
Good shot that. I was wondering if the video is from your phone or downloaded to your PC from the SD card in your Spark if you have one. I believe the video will be much better if downloaded from the SD card. Just wondering.

good luck
