IMU error when Airmap used instead of DJI Go 4

Keep getting an IMU error with my Spark when I use Airmap instead of DJI Go 4. The error does not persist when I use DJI Go 4 and calibration of IMU is excellent.

Has this happened to others?

Is there a fix? Would like to try the Airmap options.

Thanks in advance

I tried using AirMap for the first time today with LAANC approval, but while getting the instant approval was a breeze, I couldn’t get the Spark to take off because of an “IMU Error.” Like you, checking with DJI Go 4 app, there was no error. I calibrated it for good measure, but AirMap still wouldn’t let me take off, still saying there was an IMU error.

Very frustrating, I’ll have to try another LAANC app because AirMap won’t do the trick apparently.

After the IMU error occurred using AirMap, I tried using SkyWatch because it has an amazing and reasonable pay as you fly liability insurance policy and a display emulating DJI Go4 adding the zone your insurance policy will cover. Unfortunately, the same IMU error “we” have with AirMap. This indicates that the problem is with the DJI SDK File. This file is provided to 3rd party developers to allow them to capture data from the drone controller.
I think we will have to wait for DJI to correct their SDK.

I just tried out Kittyhawk, which appears to not have the IMU issue. But instead they want you to pay for the premium version to be able to “link” the LAANC authorization to your flight. I’m hesitant to pay extra money for a third party service when DJI has received approval for implementing LAANC, and hopefully they’ll be coming out with a native solution in the DJI Go app in the near future.

Don’t mind me, I’ll just wait here impatiently.
