Insurance for Canadian drones

Has anyone looked into having insurance on your Spark yet. Some proposed changes are in the works for us and they affect the Spark. We would have to carry $100,000 liability insurance regardless of how the drone is used. Anything heavier than 250g. would need to be covered.

Any ideas on cost? What insurance company are you using?

May be covered under house insurance if not using drone for profit; however, will depend on your policy. I have a bad feeling that drones will be an exclusion if the insurance becomes mandatory, another way for the insurance companies to make money.

I've got my insurance company looking into it. They weren't aware of the proposed changes. They didn't think any company will cover it under home insurance unless it's flown from your back yard. But because of the distance you have to be from your neighbors house it would be illegal regardless where you live.
