Limited distance with rc

Just one flight here before rain, with iPad and it was in 5.8G as default, seems it just pick one. Here it is in city and there are a lot of wifi at 2.4G.
No way to change from the app.
Checking distance range for each frequency is on my todo list.
Thanks for sharing the pictures, mine were poor, was hopping for sunshine but got only black clouds.

OP, are you 500m up and 100m out?

Thats 600m which is nearly 2000 ft, ie just short of half a mile.

Since you are in the EU, your transmit power is significantly reduced due to CE restrictions.
You may be at the usable limit if you are 500m up and 100m out. Lower your height and you can get more distance.

another try today with otg and i change it to 2.4GHz and i got 910m distance still didn't loose singnal so could go over 1km but start little bit rain so i come back.

Nice, did you put your phone in airplane mode ? I think it matter only if there are other wifi activities in the surrounding.
Unfortunately, I forget to do picture, so just a capture from video, less nice than your sea front.

Yea after i switched wifi for 2.4GHz i put phone to airplane mode. Hopefully be good weather on saturday and sunday for more videos and pictures

Antenna is up. I tried it first with otg cable wifi is on 5.8G if i tried conection phone with wifi i see i two wifi 2.4G and 5.8G but if i tried to change it i couldn't. I am happy with max altitude 500m is more than i was hoping but distance is just 100m.

hope your not flying the spark at 500m in height and you have to select 2.4ghz before take off and before recording.. try that (edit as i can see you now have it in 2.4)
At 500m that little spark can get into trouble very quick with wind, thinner air and the battery will drain fast.. if it gets blown off course its going to be coming down quicker than you want it to.
flying UAV`s is about the risk factor not to mention the law

not flying in 500m height :-D couldn't change from 5.8GHz before. everything is working now, last time got 910m ;-)

Nice... with good line of sight it will go to over 1000m at a height of 120m.. but be careful as the spark is small so most medium to large sized birds will fly at it and hit it as they feel they can take it on.. keep clear of birds and we are going to see lots of sparks taken down in this way thats for sure
