Sent the Spark out to greet the sunrise last Saturday. It was a cloudy day, but seemed clear enough while scanning the ocean in front of my house. I took off from my balcony, slammed the thing in S-mode and zipped off to the East to get her over the water. Over the water, I slipped her back into P-GPS and spent a few minutes taking bracketed exposures as the sun peered from behind the clouds. Happy with my shots, I turned the Spark around to see if I could get any interesting shots of my house. And there it was.

A big cloud was looming BEHIND my house, dumping rain on a ridiculously small footprint. And the winds were pushing it slowly towards my house. A few choice 4 letter words slipped from between my lips, and instinct took over. I slammed the right stick forward... and the spark starts moseying along at 10kph / 6mph. Argh. I try to get my fat thumb on the mode switch and slam her back into S-mode and zip on back to my balcony. Landed her just as the rain started to fall. Sometimes you get lucky.

Thanks for allowing the repost, admins! <3 You rock.

On a sidenote, linking to the media galleries from posts is a premium feature? I've been uploading my Spark photos there. :P

Cheers!

Really stunning photos! 👍

Thanks! But 99% of it simply being there on location. I'm lucky because this is where I happen to live and work. That remaining 1% is a mishmash of everything else including post-processing and editing. Oh yeah, talent is probably in there, too... maybe. :P But just being there takes you 99% of the way. :) Even with a humble little Spark. :)

That's really beautiful. The Spark always has some life left!
