The winter forest glows with the soft light of a January afternoon high in the Cascade Mountains near Mt. St. Helens. Silver firs rustle in a light breeze that heralds the coming of new snow, and Gray Jays flit through the canopy above. Snowshoeing is great way to get out for a hike during the cold and quiet months of winter.

This was the first time I'd used my Spark for awhile, and I was surprised by how well it it actually did and how good the footage looks.

I've also posted a gallery of Mt. St. Helens photos on my blog: The Frozen Landscape of Mt. St. Helens

Beautiful footage! I live north of Spokane, WA and enjoy a bit of snowshoeing too. Were those crater shots of Mt. St. Helens?

Thank you! Yes, that's Mt. St. Helens.

I remember when Mt. St Helens erupted (exploded).

The haze in the sky at the time here in the Midwest two thousand miles away was from the volcanic ash in the atmosphere days after.

Mother nature can sure be a bit¢h at times, but she can also heal the planet over time.

Lovely video NacMacFeegle .
