A very talented astrophotographer-friend, Lafras Smit, recently visited me at South Africa's national Astronomical Observatory's observing outstation during dark moon to teach me the tricks of his great art and exploit the dark night skies here. I passed on some drone footage I took during his visit, to combine with this video, summarising his trip and showing off his astrophotography timelapses and stills! Make sure you watch till the very end as the pictures just get better! Enjoy!

Hallo Sparkphoto! Wat 'n lekker verassing, die Afrikaans! Het gou teruggekyk na jou boodskappe - het jy toe reggekom met FCC-mode in SA? Ek gebruik die gemodifiseerde sagteware met groot sukses. Kan jou die leêr aanstuur as jy nog nie reggkom het nie - het dit sopas weer om 'n nuwe foon geïntsalleer.

Goed om te hoor jy het reggekom - maak die wêreld se verskil! Ek het vir my range extenders ge-3D-druk, maar het hulle nog skaars gebruik omdat dit nie meer nodig is nie. Ons kan 'n plan maak as jy nie regkom nie. "Lag" kan ook selfoon-verwant wees - was my ondervinding - geen probleem na ek nuwe foon gekry het nie. Ek bly in Wellington en werk by die Sterrewag in Observatory, Kaapstad. En jy?

Sommer self gemaak. Het die goue foil karton gekry en self gemaak, Nog nie getoets nie. Vlieg met iphone5s met otg cable. Eks in Stellenbosch met aangetroude familie in Wellington. Wil nog bietjie daar in die berg kom vlieg vir fotos.
