spark image cut

Hi,
I just bought the spark RC, and when i fly only about 50 meters away the image is cut, no signal, but the remote still controls the spark. is this right? why do we need the remote to make the distance longer if it's so short nonetheless? do u think an OTG cable will improve this meaningfully or this is just the way this works?

OTG cable will only improve transmission from the RC to the phone/table and it will not help with the image transmission from the controller to the Spark. Try turning the phone/table Bluetooth off or have it in airplane mode and only WIFI on.

Yes, of course, extended antennas every time.
After 50 meters, does only the video image disappears and telemetry data remains on the screen? Does the image recovers once you start bringing the Spark closer to the RC? A screen shot will help understand what you see.

You may be in a high interference area, have you tried takeoff/flying from a different place? Look for an open field to test.

sorry looks like they got removed, anyway u can see one fully ok, then it says "aircraft disconnected" and no data, no altitude, no battery, nothing.

You could try with 5.8Ghz. Looks like you've set 2.4Ghz in the WiFi tab manually.

But 20m sounds very....not good...

Sounds like you in CE mode

CE can't be that bad, honestly. I flew with CE before and got 200m distance easily.

Try using your phone as controller and see if you get better results. If yes, you know that your remote isn't working properly.

And you are sure that you are connected to the remote? Well, I guess you are using the sticks...maybe you should get a new remote.
