Also one other additional note the battery was not found, just the spark.

was the spark disconnected while falling or what did you see on screen of the app?

Update for you all, DJI reviewed the flight logs and will be replacing the drone. They didn't give any indication as to the cause, but I have submitted that question, and hopefully will get a response.

Agreed! I just wish they gave more of an explanation, to help prevent it in the future.

Did popping up the top compromised returning it? Wouldn't DJI wanted it intact when they received it?

It was so badly caked with sand and corroded they didn’t even notice.
