Devil's Tower I assume? Now your "imaginary" mission parameters show the drone flying at 1000 feet but the view in the VLM is still showing near ground level. Can the AGL view not be changed to match the set altitude at all?

Check the VLM profile carefully.
There you will see that home is 3,857 above sea level (ASL) and the drone starts at 4,857ASL
The view is correct as noted by the appearance of slow travel...because it is so high.
Note in the view that the peak is almost drone level.
The tower is 5,112ASL
