Tab A 10.1 dim display

How disappointing. Brand new Tab A 10.1, OTG cable. Display is too dim to use. Samsung S8 , same rig with micro to C instead of micro to micro, looks great. Any suggestions? Bad cable maybe?

My Tab A 7 has an outdoor display setting. Super bright. Check settings.

Mine only has Auto and a slider.

No matter how bad (or good) it looks it will be much much better with a simple sun shade attached.

And turn off "auto brightness" with manual slider maxed out and locked

Anybody have a link for a Tab A 10.1 compatible sun shade? Looked on Amazon, but even the ones listed for a 10.5 had reviews that said it covered part of the screen. Maxed out my brightness, that helped.
