The Hochablass, a huge weir spanning the Lech river in Augsburg, Bavaria. Here, water is branched off from the Lech, which is led via the capital stream into Augsburg's old town and flows through the Lechviertel together with the water of the Lochbach in many canals.
Right next to the weir is the Augsburger Eiskanal, a white-water facility that was built for the canoe slalom competitions of the 1972 Summer Olympics.
