Suggest you join the NJ Drone Users Group on Meet-Up. (NJ Drone User Group (Clifton, NJ)) Nick is very good at setting up legal fly-ins almost every weekend.

Wait to upgrade to latest firmware

I updated both my Spark and RC with the new DJI Assistant (MAC) - I use IOS/iPad Mini 4. Everything is running smooth so far.
