Not sure if you have seen it but the FAA have proposed new rules for UAVs that will require remote transponders. This can have many consequences for drone pilots including additional costs and can really harm hobbyist and commercial drone usage. not to mention all drones will have to be registered as a hobbyist, not just the pilot.
and page 73 or so talks about future option to have ALL drones registered even under 0.55lbs.

The excessiveness of their paper is verging on lunacy!
