Day 3 with Spark = crash into fresh water.

I was flying along on ActiveTrack mode when the drone simultaneously shut down all motors, causing it to drop into a small toddler's paddling pool that's less that a meter wide and long!

After seeing that happen, I rushed over and removed the drone - it had been fully submerged for about 5 seconds. I promptly removed the battery - the drone was still running fine when I removed it, i.e., fan spinning, gimbal level etc.

I brought it inside, took off the ESC covers and the top shell. Then I removed the GPS Module, and placed all the parts, including the battery, under the rice. I'll leave it there for a few days.

I decided not to blow it with a hair-dryer since that might force water further into components...

Any thoughts?

Is it likely to survive?

I think you caught it in time!

A dessicant like silca gell would be more effective than rice.

I certainly agree, but I didn't have that available at the time!

Great idea - I did have one of those available so if I do it again (hopefully not) then I'll know what to do!
