Getting the spark ready

So I unboxed the Spark yesterday, checked out what came with it, and then ordered a 3rd battery online.
Today I plan on reading the manual and other documentation that came with it. I think I will read the manual online from a PDF since the paper manual is so small.

Even though I will not be able to fly it for a few months yet I think I will charge one battery so I can download the app and do any updates that are available. At that point, since it would now be activated, I think I have to decide if I want to buy the DJI Care Refresh insurance. Price wise it looks like a decent deal for what you get.

I will start looking for good, but not too complicated, video editing software......recommendations?

Any suggestions/recommendations to my plan posted here are welcome.

Lots of good YouTube videos that will take you through the whole process

VSDC is a free editor with plenty of features and no watermarks. Its also quite simple to get started with and will do all you need it to do with both video and audio...

Keep in mind DJI Care is only good for a year so you'll be only getting part of that time if you're not flying until spring or whatever.

Also I was in a similar situation, got everything all activated, updated all the firmware, etc. and then by the time I was able to fly they'd updated all the firmware and I had to redo all of it...

What platform are you using to fun the editor on? If it’s ios then LumaFusion is excellent.

Good point. I just finished all the updates and activated the Spark. I did a little fly around the living room which went well. I've flown a little $30 drone inside before so I am used to how the sticks work.
