So Ol' Sparky managed to throw a cap from the bottom of one of it's motors. Not sure when it happened, but I noticed it this evening.

Here's a picture:

I chatted with DJI this evening and their support is telling me they're not sure it's an orderable part and there may be a cost associated with it and that it might take 3 weeks to get it and it probably won't be free.

I have DJI Care Refresh, but I didn't make a formal claim against that; should I have?

Thanks, placed an order for a pair of them from eBay. Maybe I'll get another one for free from DJI, but I'm doubtful ;)

Are those covers typically removable ? Looks like they may twist off and twist/lock on. Might be another pre flight checklist item.

If they are, I can't figure out how. I'm hoping that will become obvious once the replacements arrive.

I had one pop off in a hard landing (OK, a crash) in my living room. The impact caused a slight dent in the round opening where the cover fits so it was difficult to get it back in. I eventually did but not as tight as I would have liked. Yes, they're a twist/lock on design but probably for a factory tech doing repair/replacement work on the LEDs inside. The user shouldn't have to mess with it.

I’m a Design Tech teacher and I have 2 3D printers in the classroom.. first thing I’m gonna do is print some feet for it to stand on when landing :)

An update ... my wife found the missing cap this morning when she took the dog out for her morning search for the ultimate waste elimination location.

I still have a couple of them arriving later this week, purchased from eBay.

For those that are curious as to how they're held in, they simply need to be snapped into place with the the longitudinal axis of the central ridge aligned with the center line of the motor strut. There are 4 small protrusions in the motor housing that snap into corresponding tabs on the "up" side of the cap.
