Tried the hoods, great to keep the sun out but still the problem with cloudy days - still a newbie with only 20 + flights so that doesn't help !

I use a non glare screen protector on my iPad Mini 4 and I like it a lot. I found it on eBay.

The two brands that I have found to be of good quality are the Tech Armor Anti-Glare/Anti-Fingerprint and Supershieldz Anti Glare Matte Screen Protectors. I will say that the installation requires that it be done in as clean of an environment as possible to avoid dust particles from getting between the protector and the tablet screen. Dust particles tend to show up more on the anti-glare matte screen protectors. There are installation videos available for this on YouTube. Look for them by the brand name. If you can find these items on eBay, try to find the ones that offer multiple screen protectors just in case you run into problems and need to start over. I hope this helps.
