Quick shots Sphere

I have tried a few spheres and I cannot get it to finish all the shots. Seems to be when the camera angle is more skyward. I have been shooting manual, AE lock and sunny AWB. it will shoot all the contrast images but the sky it hesitates and quits.
Thanks for any help.
