Heading out to the Mojave National Preserve this weekend. Though it is not a National Park, it is managed by the National Park Service. If you do some digging on the Mojave National Preserve website, you can find a memo stating that Superintendent can authorize drone use. (Some may recall the discussion in this thread).
I emailed the superintendent requesting a permit to fly for the weekend, which was immediately denied. The email chain had a few more conversations, but the meat of it is here:
