Screenshot video?

Hi all.Just wondering while taking photos with my spark is there an advantage of taking a still photo from the spark using the camera button or should I just leave the video running and take a screenshot of the original video file.
Does the video use the full 12 megapixels in each frame.

If you switch between the still function and the video you can see the crop as the video looks as if it zooms in. So no, the video does not use the entire 12mp. The video is 1920x1080 a little over 2mp. Still shots are 3968×2976. If you want a still, you should switch to the camera and take a still photo. You will have much more to work with in post.
