Shell color - painting your spark...

Quick question, does anyone know if painting the shell/cover effects the aircraft's performance?

I painted mine using tamiya modeling paint...

in my opinion as long as you dont apply to much coating that will result in additional weight there might be no issues with this

by the way i love the color : if my time permits me i would do remake / paint job on my unit

I don't think it would affect the performance. But since you already painted yours, why don't you run a few test flights and tell us if there is any negative effect? ?

As suggested I've taken a test flight and there are no real problems. Tried both DJI GO4 & LITCHI.

The compass needed calibration which took two attempts before I got it right. I tried focus in LITCHI for the first time and after a minute a IMU error popped up but since I've never tried the function I can't say if it's an error due to the paint job or because of something else.

I'm really happy with the color, kinda like the coastguard or lifeguard...

I like the paint too. Good job. I think it will look good on your Amazon Echo Dot as well, which also doesn't offer good color options. ?

I painted my Spark to make it look more like a bumble bee. I'm pretty sure it goes 12-13% faster thanks to the new paint.

Nice! Here's my set, I plan on either getting a Mavic 2 or perhaps the newer Spark 2 (if and when it comes out).

May I ask why you too have two Spark's??

I have two because I lost the first one, bought a replacement the next day then by chance recovered the first unit shortly after...

I have 2 Sparks because I crashed one and got the 2nd one to use while the 1st was being repaired. I have 2 Mavics too, but no crashes to report there. My Arctic White Mavic is much faster than the grey one, but I suspect the reason for that is tweaking with NLD software. Don't ask me which one I like the best. I like them all.
