Just to be clear, and make sure I'm not just missing something, but is there a setting or way to make recording happen automatically during takeoff or a certain altitude?

A post it note on the remote as a reminder to record is about the best bet.

Can't tell you how many great shots I've flown without pressing "Record." That was my tagline for a while: "It is impossible to take cinematic footage with a spark unless you remember to start recording."
