Strange behavior

Tried a test flight today from the house, found out I'm in an "authorization zone". The Spark acted like it wanted to fly but didn't lift off, bounced around a bit while I frantically tried to activate the landing mode. Attempted to navigate the authorization process and changed the battery so I'm not certain which of the 2 things made a difference but it was then able to fly. What is the expected behavior when trying to fly in a restricted zone or authorization zone without authorization? Was the dance it was doing normal? I would have expected it just wouldn't even try to take off.

One thing mine doesnt do is fly in the authorization zone without the authorization. I won't even start when I try to initiate take off.
I don't think the battery is the culprit since mine keeps yelling low battery.

Ever have it jitter about and try to take off, but never actually lift off?
