The cost to register via FAA Dji Spark

Anyone have their Spark registered and how much did it cost. I basically fly in my backyard and its huge so I have not flown it anywhere yet but would love to know that cost of registering with FAA.

It costs $5 for a 3-year registration. You can register on the FAA's website here. Choose the "Section 336" option if you're only flying as a hobbyist.

Is this mandatory when flying a Spark in all the USA or only when you fly it closer than 5 miles of an airport ?

Yes. You must register and attach the FAA registration number to your Spark before flying anywhere outdoors.

Thanks body! We dont have to do that in Canada ...for the moment but the DOT will ask for a permit soon,for every 250 grams or more drone !
