Even though I won't be Getting Springo until Xmas. I've started watching YouTube tips and printed the manual to read.

I like that there are 3 different Stick Modes but even happier that there is a custom one.

My right hand is the stronger and more co-ordinated one. So my custom mode would be:-

Left Stick - Up/Down, Left and Right.

Right Stick - Forward/Backward and Turn Left/ Turn Right.

What's your mode of choice.

Mode 2 for me.

The Spark is my first drone and I believe that was the default setting and I learned to fly that way.
If I was to fly another DJI product, I would assume the pilot would fly in the default mode 2 and it wouldn't be new to me as I took the controls to fly the drone.

But as you have noticed, DJI allows you to customize your needs.

I think for most (RC) aircraft pilots and video gamers, pulling back on the stick equals pull up the craft and and pushing forward pushes the nose of the craft down.

Flying a quad copter verses a fixed wing aircraft is different so whatever you feel comfortable with, go for it.

And if you don't like it, you can change it. Just remember to retrain your muscle memory to correspond to the new configuration.

Good luck.:)

I'm a gamer but this controller is not as curvy as Xbox, have big hands lol. I'm just thinking custom as once I have it of beginner mode. I think turning and moving would be best with best hand.

Well if you wish to compare with aircraft, compare with helicopter: right hand controls are similar.

Regarding customization proposed by Tiori it makes great sens.
I often times wished to pilot spark with right hand only, as the left stick is very sensitive with altitude changes. With mode 2 its impossible, you need both hands to manoeuver and make undesired alti changes.
I might look further into this custom mode[emoji846]

If the left hand stick is very sensitive. I think I forward etc and turning on the not sensitive stick. Unless you just have a slightly wonky stick lol.

One thing for me I'm limited by law here to only 120 meters.
