Battery Charging

Hi there,
Got me Spark about a week ago.
Not very tech savvy, so progress will be slow for this old luddite.
Nice to find this space.
My first question ( many more to come I fear ), is about battery charging.
On a couple of occasions when charging the battery indicator lights only flash the first one, on the right hand side, rather than working from left to right.
Why is this?
It has sorted itself out when I have removed the battery and then reinstalled. Sometimes do this a couple of times before it starts charging.
I haven't invested in a charging 'bank' yet, only charge via the Spark itself.
Am I doing something wrong ?

Right after flying? Need to wait for the battery to cool down, it will start charging on its own once it's cool enough.
