Nexus 7 and RC?

I just got a Nexus 7 3G for silly money, specifically to use as a dedicated Spark display as it has good brightness.

As it's the same length as an iPad Mini, has anyone managed to fit it into the controller without modifying the RC arms?

I don't use this tablet to fly, but it does fit. Tight squeeze, but no mods needed.

I use the nexus 7 2013, I had to build a modified holder since the tablet didn't fit in the controller.

You may need to file a small part of the RC body, each side, with a round file to enable the arms to open up a bit more. It works for me.

Your replies echo what I've seen on YouTube, that some controllers have a slightly different moulding from others.

One type will take the iPad Mini and Nexus7 (which are exactly the same length), the other type require a bit of modification.

Using a tape measure on my controller it looks like there's no way that a 7.87" tablet will fit without breaking a hinge.

Looks like a bit of careful Dremeling might be needed.
