spark won't connect to controller

Basically as stated in the title, spark won't connect to controller. I turn on the spark, turn on the controller and it doesn't automatically pair. Used the 3-button custom keys to reset and it blinks green indefinitely until I stop it. Tried turning both off, tried turning each off one by one several times. Tried to reset several times, just won't pair. Haven't flown for about a week because of the recent rain and thankfully wasn't anywhere special but of course I'm looking to fly again as soon as possible. Looking forward to a solution.

edit-- well Ok. After quit a bit of dickering it was able to link while simultaneously doing the 3-button mojo on the controller and pushing the power button on the spark for 3 seconds. I don't remember it being like that before but now it's linked. -- That's probably what I was doing before and just forgot like an idiot.
