Can't connect to spark via Android Pixel XL 8.1

Hi everyone. Long time Phantom pilot here first time spark pilot.

I jumped on the 399 Amazon deal for the spark and it arrived yesterday.

I can connect to the craft via my iPad but not my phone. When I go to connect my phone connects to the sparks wifi but doesn't ever leave the wifi screen. It doesn't go back to the dji go 4 app and when I manually back out it says not connected.

Any suggestions?

If I can't fly it with just my phone I will return it. Since I use the phantom 4 pro for most stuff.
