I was reading around DJI forums and noticed people are dead set that charging a battery while hot is bad. I get it and realize this can be bad. My question is if it's really that bad with our chargers.. Can damage be done? If I place a hot battery on the charger, it won't charge until it's cooled to a specific temp. So am I doing any damage by hooking up the battery prior to it cooling (despite it not actually charging).

No your not in this case because it does monitor the temps. but if i were to charge a non smart pack i'd let it cool down.. like you said above they will not start to charge until it has cooled to DJI's specs..
