Stiff/thight motor after crash and HOW i solve it.

Great post, which prompted me to write my first, having only had my Spark (first drone) for approximately 3 weeks.

I stumbled across your post when I had exactly the same problem, so I did as you did. Just finished and tested in the house actually.

I didn’t use a hammer though, but instead I slid a small hex socket over the shaft and then used a very small vice to drive the shaft further through the motor casing. I can see from your pictures your shaft was misaligned with respect to the inner race of the bearing. Mine was slightly different in that I could see the outer race of the bearing protruding too much through the motor casing, but same result anyway.

Looking forward to testing properly tomorrow in the light of day ...

Then i had this problem the motor went tighten anf heating up so i decided repair by self at home. After teardown the motor i cannot find how to push tha shaft. I have tried to press it. But it's jammed should i use more force?
I'm worried if i make it broke accidentally. I'm sad now. Please help ASAP.

I've tried with a hammer, and it doesn't work, you can't get enough force and balancing the motor on your tabletop/bench is tricky.
I use a G-Clamp and a small nut socket (Big enough to fit over the shaft on the propeller side) then slowly apply pressure screwing the clamp between the socket and the other side of the motor shaft. I've found that you can make very small adjustments this way and check shaft turns freely (I put the props back on and compare with a working motor) as sometimes you can cause over-tightening. if this happens just switch the socket to the other side and reverse the process and push the shaft back. Hope that makes sense.
Remember small adjustments work best and it doesn't take much to get the shaft back into position.

Agreed, it's too hard to control the amount of force by striking. The clamp/press gives a more graduated and controllable application. You can always add more, but you can't undo the hammer blow. You might get away with it, but you might not.

Yes thank God finally i did it right now, took out the motor without cutting the wires and as you can see in the 2nd last picture i placed the shaft lfor example screw drive i put it.
And start striking slow to medium then i checked it was gone inside a little more because i applied extra force at medium stroke, so packed it completely. Then i used the last picture method to stroke it from above and the motor went perfectly fine. Thanks a lot for this forum and help that you guys did. I really appreciate that. Although i just got slightly scratches but now it doesn't matter as mark spark alive again.

Wow, thank you for this post! An hour ago, the battery fell out of my drone and it crashed. The two back motors have this problem.

I took a hammer to the two back pins and they seem to be spinning freely now, but the top part of the motor is now popped up and there is a gap. Every time I try and close this gap, I'm back to square one with the pin sticking out and the motor catches friction again. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Yes. How did you do this? One propeller of mine tightened that's why I can't fly my Spark.
